About The Echo Within

The Echo Within is a survivor-led space for reflection, connection, and care. It was created for anyone living with the long echoes of trauma, trafficking, or abuse. And for those who walk beside them.

I’m Shellie Vandersluis, a consultant, educator, and crisis-trained advocate. I’ve supported survivors through recovery and mental health challenges, and this work centers on learning, leadership, and resilience. I write from both professional training and lived experience, sharing tools and reflections for those navigating healing, growth, and real life in between.

This space is not therapy and does not replace professional care. It’s simply a calm corner for understanding, gentleness, and reflection. It’s about rebuilding trust in yourself, finding steadiness, and creating belonging after loss or harm.
